If you had lived 15,000 years ago and suggested to your friends that it would be great to incorporate some of these lifestyle practises into their lives, they would have looked at you with disbelief and then started laughing. At that time all of our ancestors lived as hunter gatherers and these “practises” were already embedded in their daily lives. In our modern world, however, many of us have fallen away from these. A large and growing body of research suggests that including them back into our lives has tremendous benefit for our psychological and physical well-being.
